As a fan of vintage British Television drama and comedy, I am building up a video collection, using the methods that are covered in the Video articles. Below is a list of programmes that I have, in what format they currently stand, and the original capture format.
Depending on the source, these will be of varying quality (HD being the best). All series are complete unless otherwise stated (e.g. first episode only) and from the orginal broadcast/original repeat (i.e. not a satellite station capture) unless a commerical VHS release or stated in accompanying notes.
If anyone is interested in any trade, please email me for details. Note: no Commercial DVDs in my collection are mentioned here. Unless stated, if I subsequently get the Commercial DVD, the title will be removed from the list. None of the below is offered for sale.

I am not a great fan of ITV drama, you may have noticed from the majority BBC nature of my archive, as most of it, with a few notable exceptions, is very samey. However, I have kept Lawless as I am a bit of a Trevor Eve fan; although this film isn't particularly good. This recording is from the first ITV3 repeat (hence an ITV3 dog present throughout) and the bitrate of the ITV digital station wasn't very good at the time; also, due to a poor signal, where I lived at the time, pixellations occur quite frequently; ITV2 logo; W/S

This is the BBC's 2000 version of the R.D. Blackmore classic starring Richard Coyle. Sadly, the Commercial BBC release copy that I (eventually) managed to get hold of was not the best quality that I have seen and I was not able to use the JVC's digital noise reduction when capturing. The drama is watchable, but the film quality is a little grainy and the soundtrack is crackly in places, but thankfully not too much as to ruin it. Thus is the legacy of a magnetic medium such as VHS. This has been released on DVD.

This was originally captured on VHS and converted to xVCD, but I no longer have the original VHS. I converted this to DVD by capturing the VCD playback from a DVD player and re-encoding using the noise reduction filter on TMPGEnc. I am quite happy with the results, but sadly, as the original VCD's soundtrack was not at 48,000Htz, the soundtrack of this episode has a slight tinny sound. Still watchable however.

BBC1 2002 day-time repeats; these were heavily edited transmissions and were only a selection of episodes. In some cases, the plots were missing vital segments and some of the stunt work (e.g. fight scenes), dialogue and visuals were quite badly compromised. Oh yes, the current BBC logo (1998 onwards) was also bunged on the start.

A full set of episodes, but this appears to be from a satellite/digital broadcast; they are slightly edited (one suspects for advertising/timing constraints) and have been processed to remove the station logo from the top left of the picture. Thankfully, the edits are nowhere near as severe as the BBC's 2002 day-time repeats, but someone was still quite sensitive to foul language as most of the swearing has been removed. I am very tempted to 'restore' any footage from other recordings into these episodes. The bitrates for series two are not as high as series one and the resolution is at half D1, so they are not as clear.
